Removing the shift knob!!!

Removing the shift ****!!!
Can somebody please tell me how to remove the shift **** out my A6. Also has anyone put in a MOMO black SPHERE in there are two mounts one is specific for audi/vw and the other one is "fits most cars" trying to figure out which is better/easier to install. Thanx

What year's your A6?
In late 03, they changed the way the **** is attatched. For the earlier years, you could simply "unscrew" the ****. For later years (late '02+), you have to remove the retaining clip on the underside of the boot.
