we have a 03 1.9tdi jetta wagon in the shop this morning. we just did a full timing belt job and changed his fuel filter. the filter was properly primed and the fuel lines were air free. the original complaint was an intermittent no start. which we belived was the filter never bering changed in 97k. the problem has persisted and we continue to see small air bubbles moving through the lines at seemingly random times. being that the injection pump draws suction from the tank we thought maybe there was a pinhole in a line. we drew 15 in of vacuum on the line and it held for 15 minutes. the only thing we got left is the fuel pickup in the tank or the injection pump itself. has anyone ever experienced anything like this in their travels? any help will be appreciated.

Fuel pump at the tank most likely is a problem, connections or seal gave out..
