Can Bluetooth shutdown on key-off be extended?

Can Bluetooth shutdown on key-off be extended?
My BT shuts down as soon as the key is turned off...often it crashes my BlackBerry 7135e.
Can't this thing KNOW I'm in a call and stay on? Is there a VAG-COM setting?
