Default Houston folk, need recommendations for ribs...
My girlfriend's coming out to visit next weekend and she wants "ribs that melt in your mouth". So where are the best places to go for ribs?

you will think I am kidding, since it looks like a house that is about to fall down, but the beef is awesome, the sauce is the best, and the ribs are better than any I have had in Texas

Thelma is always there, serving food and running the register. For $6.75 you will get more food than you can possibly eat.

Default FWIW, Houston's has darn good baby pork ribs...
...just don't go to the one on Westheimer near Augusta -- they have a much less tasty version of beef ribs.

But isn't Houston's a chain? I think there's even one in S.F. How 'bout something uniquely Texan?

Default Yeah, there are about 50 nationwide...
...but as someone who grew up in Houston, I thought they were a Houston thang with the name of Houston's!
