Shifting problems
I am sure they have changed the setup on the 225's to better handle the torque. The easier clutch might be part of a different trany setup.
Two:
If your clutch is hard and shifting is sloppy I would tell you that its time to change the bushings and the clutch and shifter cables but your car doesn't have the high mileage.
Go to the local dealer and ask to drive a 180 (same year as yours) I am certain they will let you take it for a spin. You can compare then if your clutch is still harder than another car, I would take advantage of the warranty and pay a visit to an Audi shop.
