17" vs. 18" wheels and tires, is there a big difference?
In handling aspects of the TT, would their be a benefit going to 18's for me?
I am considering doing some auto-x'ing this year and currently have 17" but I would like to know if going to an 18" wheel would give me significantly better handling.
I can not go with 19's because my TT has been lowered about an inch and I am confident that it would rub.
Unless, there is another way to get around the rubbing issue. "SPACERS"?
Can I go with wider wheels and just get narrower spacers?

i think the big difference is the those "little" potholes/irregularities in the pavement are now bigger. Steering has improved, and fells more direct over 17's. I run 16's in the winter right now, and its like driving a cadillac...well, not quite, but i think you get my point.
The CH's are tough rims, but i can see how some could have a problem with 19's on the road.
For what you are considering, 18's would be the biggest you would want to go. Everything i have read says that that is the optimal size for handling, driveability, and overall durability. Now if you are going to do a seperate tire package just for Auto X'ing....then maybe just a good set of 17's with a slightly lower profile....
