Default 18" wheels on a TT.....

Is there any change in speedometer readings or odometer putting 18's on the TT ?
And, how wide can one go with tires without making steering a problem ?? I have a 2002 TTC and am ready to modify !!!!!!!

Default

go with 225/40/18 's and the OD will remain the same as the 17" rim and tire

Default not if done right

not if you maintain the original diameter--up the the wheel size but decrease the tire aspect ratio..40s versus 45 series.

I'm thinking of going with 235/40/18 - will that be a significant change to the O/D ?

Default Here's a good tire/wheel calculator. I use the compare tire A w/ tire B feature alot.

Default Much more important issue in rolling diameter...messing up the ABS/ESP systems...

diameter should be within + or - 3% of OEM...remember the ABS/ESP systems use sensors at the wheel hubs that measure rotational speed and this info is mixed with tranny output shaft speed and engine rpms...mess with wheel rotation input and will send systems into default or worse.

Default The best tire match is 225/40ZR18 but many here are using 235/40zr18

Let me know if i can help you with anything found at our website
