2001 TT convertible
Thinking about buying a 2001 TT convertible, with 24,000 miles on it. Don't know if I should or not. Any feedback? Only one owner, never been wrecked.
Thanks!

Re: That's a Roadster and you should buy it... 180 or 225 ?... what's the asking price?
It's a 180. 2001 with 24,955 miles on it. Automatic top, Nimbus grey exterior, black all leather interior, Bose premium sound, 8 months left on the factory warranty. They are asking $19,950. Seems to be a good price compared to other ones that are similar. *Also, it is pre-wired for a disc changer but doesn't come with it. Can I throw any disc changer in it, or does it have to be the kind Audi makes?

TT lesson #2 The interior is not "all "leather but that's a good thing.More>>
Most owners end up pretty dissapointed with the Bose Premium sound and it's engineered in such a way as to make it difficult and expensive to get rid of. It's certainly not something worth paying extra for
The CD Changer is so quirky that Audi should actually pay you to take one off their hands. I have one here that you can have for the cost of shipping if you don't believe me...and no other disk player will work, and this one won't work with just any system.
The price seems a wee bit high, but not so bad...depending on the market in your local area. They vary widely across the country.
Mileage looks good...
If you buy it, make sure all the guages are working perfectly. The instrument cluster has a very high failure rate and is ~1200.00 after warranty. The car wont run once it fails completely, and it can't be replaced without a dealer's secret code, so they really have you by the nards when/if it goes bad.
