225 or 3.2 ??
Can't decide between a 225 6sp or the 3.2. My hangup is that I prefer shifting. My dealer has a beautiful 3.2 rdstr. blu/blu top/vanilla leather--its a knockout. The other car is a 225 coupe 6sp blk/blk leather and I like the extra room and looks of the coupe. The DSG seems too much like a tiptronic to me--I have an '01 Allroad w/tip--but the 225 flies with the fast shifts of the DSG. I'm leaning toward the coupe but love the look of the roadster just not crazy about the DSG vs. 6sp. How do I resolve this recognizing that the 3.2 has the latest engine and transmission?

Well....
The 3.2 is a very strong, smooth VW VR6, so I'm not sure it's the latest technology engine, just the most recent for the TT if that makes sense, and it's certainly a great engine. Definitely the most recent tech on the tranny, for better or worse reliability-wise. Definitely very cool, but I also won't give up my shifting, even if a DSG does it faster. Have never owned an auto tranny car and hope never to...
A DSG roadster vs a 225 coupe are two quite different TT's (A quick but important distinction in your post, the 225 isn't the one flying with the DSG, that's the 250 V6, prolly a typo). I love my coupe, and the roadsters are very cool too.
An allroad makes an excellent companion to the TT, IMHO, and depending where you live, you might be able to enjoy the roadster more often and use the allroad as your hauler. No question, though, that a TT coupe (particularly with the rear seat removed) is much more practical than a roadster, in addition to being a more classic shape, again IMHO. You could certainly get a blue/vanilla coupe as well.
Kinda depends what you think about a 1.8T vs a V6 too. The former can make lots of power, particularly with some key mods you can read about around here, and the 6 is smoother and stronger than a stock 1.8T without doing any mods. The combination of a modded 1.8T with a stick is definitely my preference, and a common one around here. Audi doesn't plan to import any 6sp 3.2's. : (
