Default 225 dual exhaust on a 180 Quattro TT

Hi, I've been looking into getting an aftermarket dual exhaust system either, Borla or Blueflame. But the option has now arisen to get a 225 exhaust system from a salvage for a good price. I have not heard of this being done before but are they compatible?? Would it be an easy bolt in switch? How far back would I need to get the exhaust from and should I expect any HP gains as I would from an aftermarket company? thanks!!

Default don't do it. stock exhaust is not worth the hassle unless the only thing you want is the look,

and in that case just get a fake second tip.

to use a 225 exhaust of any sort, you will need an adapter from your 2.5 inch pip to the 2.75 inch exhaust of a 225. any competent exhaust installer should be able to make one.

Default Just buy my old 2.5 Cat back stuff

You'd get the 2.5 Cat back with resonator and Remus Quad tip muffler and a muffler bypass.
For Picks look in my fotki.

Default Not that much of a hassle.

The exhaust guy I went to made an adapter and had the exhaust mounted in less than 1/2 hour. I paid $60 for the exhaust and $60 for the labor and $90 for the 3.2 dual rear valance. Some people are giving away their 225 exhaust for local pickup.
