3.2 front bumper conversion help
My car recieved some damage to the front end a few weeks ago and I thought I might as well put on the 3.2 bumper. I have searched through the archives and got the part numbers which I took to the audi dealer. I was told that the part number I gave them was a german market part (which I knew) and that it wasn't DOT legal so they wouldnt sell it to me. Instead they said I could get the USA "S-line" bumper for $960. Are there really any differences between these two parts?
8N0 807 101BJ GRU (german bumper)
8NO 807 101BL GRU ("S-Line" USA)
Also, I called West Broad Audi/VW in Richmond because I saw a few of you purchased your 3.2 bumpers there. They are selling the "S-Line" for $760 which is a lot better than my local audi dealer but still more than the under $600 most of you got yours for. So, do I really need to get the USA bumper and if not where can I get the german bumper and not get bent over. Of course I will still need to buy the brackets and grill pieces.
THANKS

Mine just came in..install Monday>>>
I went through the same thing you are going through....I ordered the Euro bumper from local dealer..(I was told it was the only one left in the country)...
I also called West broad...what they saved me in price got eaten up on shipping (200 ship)so I got the Euro from local dealer...he did'nt care about selling it to me..but would'nt guarantee that it would fit...it just came in today(my bodyshop) and it will work just fine...the S-line is 100 more...might as well get that one if euro is not available.
