Default Another Cluster thread

My 2002qc with 45,000 miles just had the first symptom of a failing cluster.

I read the FAQ and searched and had a decent idea of what was going on, then went to the dealer since I'm CPO for another 19 months.

Symptoms: I had a half tank of gas, 205 miles to empty on the display, then all of a sudden, the needle was pinned at full and I had 410 miles to empty! Ha, no need for Al Gore to save the environment, everyone just needs to drive an Audi!

So I hustled over to the dealer so they could see it in an invalid state, they checked for codes and did some diagnostic on the fuel tank senders, then said: We'll order the part and we'll need two days to fix it next week.

I'm pretty sure this means the cluster is going to be fixed, but who knows... I'll send updates as I get them, and if it is the cluster, I'll gladly send a letter to NHSTA to help with everyone else getting a recall status.

Oh yeah, while it's in they're going to replace the blinker fluid too. Sweet.

Blinker fluid is cluster related, muffler bearings aren't.

Sounds like a fuel tank sender problem since both needle and trip comp are off
