Default Is anyone carrying a full size spare tire? (m)

If so...
1) Does it fit in the spare tire well (I have a 180FWD Coupe)?
2) Where did you put the tools and jack?

I've bought a second set of 6-spoke TT wheels and was thinking of using one as a spare tire. (I haven't received them yet...Wednesday supposedly)

Thanks for any info,
Steve

Default Not a chance, the mini-spare barely fits, but ---

it works, had to drive home on it for 300 miles (passed by all the milk trucks and cow carrying pickups on the road, sob) after taking a railroad spike thru a Bridgestone coming back from the Poconos. Advantage -- wonderful gas milage at a steady 50 mph (nearly 40 mpg on the last tank).

Default Re: Gas mileage

I feel for you on the gas mileage. I was driving my Volvo the other day. It has a 15 psi turbo on it. At 50mph it never uses the turbo (or that's what seems to be happening). I get well over 35mpg with a tank of a car. That's pretty darn good. Too bad I can't stand going that slow on the highway for long! ;-)

Oh well, OPEC wins again.
