It seems that auto upholstery shops can vary quite a bit in experience, some being experts with soft tops and others not having a clue. But one thing seems certain--the labor charge in this is NOT CHEAP. The first few places I've checked are quoting $600-$800 in labor.
This REALLY sucks. I'm looking at a minimum of $500 for the top, $600 labor...
I think it's time to file an insurance claim and face an increase in my rates. :-(

I agree... and now I'm not so enthusiastic about glass instead of plastic!
I'm really surprised at this point that no manufacturer has come up with a composite window material that has some flex to it, won't break, and won't cloud up/scratch. This costly vulnerability is extremely nasty...
I love having a Roadster, but I think my next TT will be a Coupe. With an aftermarket sunroof, of course (nod to you, Steve!).

Operator error in some cases. (I'm not saying which) ;-)
But one common problem I recall reading about is that the wires going to the rear window defogger can break and the official solution is top replacement.
