Default Automatic?

my wife cannot drive a manual car so we would have to get the TT in Automatic but we have no clue as to when the automatic version is coming out. please email me with a possible date...thanks a million.<p>heavyd5000@aol.com<p>the car is phenomenal!

So far, the Auto version is just a rumor. Audi has not announced any plans yet.<br>I sorta doubt Audi will spent the money to develop the Automatic until demand starts to fall off.<br>Your best bet is to teach your wife to drive the manual. My wife can drive manual tranmission I am not really happy about that. Perfect reason for you to keep your wife out of the TT

Many driving schools have special one day classes to teach people how to drive manuals. I paid $50 to send my niece to such a course a few years ago -- she loves it as none of the teenage boys in her area can drive a stick and (her driving one) is intimidating to them.<p>My own feeling is that an automatic removes the driver far enough from the act of driving that a sports or even a sporty car is rendered into something else...

Direct from an employee at Audi USA a few weeks ago via Email reply:<p>Thanks again for contacting Audi of America.<p>The TT Coupe will be available with Quattro this fall. We also expect to introduce the TT Roadster (convertible) and the TT Coupe with additional horsepower (225) during the spring of 2000.
