Default Blueflame exhaust installation question...

What's the story on needing a new center bracket and hanger? It was referred to on MarTT's install guide as well as a few others. Doesn't my 2001 225Q already have a center bracket holding the OEM exhaust?

No. (You can look under there to confirm.) I suggest purchasing one.

Default It's optional....Was on the early TT's (through early '01) but droppped..>

later as a cost saving measure. It will help stabilize your system though, and as Marty said, it's a good idea to have one added...Not expensive.

Default I installed my Blueflame a few months ago without the center hanger, no problems so far...>

Has there ever been a problem with anyone who didn't install the center hanger?

Default Back in the old days...>>>

When the Miltek was about the only exhaust available for the TT, it was a necessity as the exhaust had a chronic tendency to pull apart at the midpipe. Without the center hanger there was the potential for the rear pipe to drop facing the wrong way, Doh! The center hanger stabilized all that and kept the worst from happening..

Default Peace of mind ...

I didn't have the center hanger at first, but have since installed it. I don't regret it at all.

Blueflame
