Went out to run some errands, and see this on the display - "much to my dismay". Second cluster, btw; tranny work was about 2 thousand miles ago.

Ugh; this is from a baseline of about 5k rpm = 0 rpm.

After sitting about half an hour, the tach had crept back to 2k rpm (keys in in this shot, but engine off). when engine on, idle indicated 2750...

Default weird, too - nothing on VAG, and "it's fixed" all of a sudden >

at least it's zeroed again (nothing ever 'fixes' itself - things just circle the hole of failure in an ever-decaying orbit...). Anyway, it "appears" normal, save for what I thought might be a 'stick' around 1100 rpm...
