Default Cannot make tight turns in the morning. Is this normal ?

Hello,

My warranty is going to expire in about 9K Miles so I would like to make sure everything ok with the car.

One problem that I noticed is that in the morning, if I turn the steering wheel all the way to the left (did not try the right side) and try to start moving from complete stop, the car does not move. It does not feels as an engine problem but more as mechanical obstruction that does not let the car move forward (gear ? breaks ?). If I straighten the steering wheel and start moving, everything seems to be ok and the car has the normal power.

If I repeat the experiment after driving a few miles, everything is OK and the car start moving easily even when the steering wheel is all the way to the left.

Is this normal ? Does your car have similar symptoms ?

I have 2002 225 Quarto Coupe, Revo, and after market tires of the exact original size. I live in Northern CA so it does not get very cold around here.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Zapta

Default not normal.... does it ever make any weird grinding or growling noises?

like when turning tight or backing up and turning at the same time???

could also be emergency brake sticking?

Default Yes, it does make griding/clicking noises

Don't think this is from the breaks. I tried to start driving with the handbreaks on and the symptoms a very different (no clicking/griding, just a 'smooth' obstraction).

Default Had that exact problem

It started like that then only got worse until I started getting wheel hop on the inside wheel on tight turns. The dealer had to replace the differential, the bearings went bad.
I would advise to have this checked, There have been others with this problem and it will only get worse to the point that it will be difficult to drive.

Default Dealer replaced rear differential

Just got the car back from the dealer. They were abble to reproduce it and diagnozed it as read differential failure. The warranty is goind to expire in few months so I am glad it was fixed now.
