Thanks Ken --------- Question---->
Do you skip 4th when downshifting from a 5th gear straight into a 3rd gear corner? Certainly doable if one waits till speed is down appropriately but the margin for error sure increases. I was in a rhythm and this change was too much for me to process without thinking it through. I should have waited till the next session to try his suggestion. If at all.

Answer, sorta...
I used to sequentially downshift, I don't anymore. I can rev match reasonably well when skipping one gear and I'm trying to think of a track where one would need to downshift more than 2 gears at once (probably VIR at the end of the long straight after oaktree).
That said a lot of the pro drivers do sequentially downshift rather than skipping gears. I really don't know if that's for accuracy or to let the motor do some of the braking. I will see Dion Von Moltke of the APR Koni Challenge team in a couple weeks. I'll ask him about it and post up his reply.
Take care.

Thanks ----- Daytona is one. 6-5-4-3 twice per lap.
Did that close to 100 laps in Dec . No prob. Should have left well enough alone.
By the way. Barber registration is open.

Go Barber! I can't honestly remember NOT sequentially DS'ing, but I like the 'mechanics' of...
going through it all. Sort of a pacing thing: it is part of my rhythm. Now if I could jsut get that next to last (14, 16?) turn (uphill toward the final carousel) right at Barber!

TT is supposed to done getting cleaned up to sell tomorrow
at which point I'll snap some photos and put it in AutoTrader or EBay or something, not sure how I'm going to do it. Still have to return the interior to stock and attack a glove box that won't open, otherwise I think it's ready to go!
