Default Code 01279 --- Longitudinal acceleration sensor.

Came on 3 times today over about 100 miles. The abs light in the speedometer and esp circle in the tach are lit. Resets when engine is shut off and restarted but comes back eventually. I read that it is behind the glove box. Pointers anyone? Cost? Do I need vag com to calibrate? I read something about setting it.
I reset-erased- the code tonight. We will see tomorrow if it reappears. Cold here. 19 degrees tonight. Think this sensor error could be temperature related??? TIA

Default The sensor is about $150. Easy to replace: Just pop out the old one, disconnect, and reconnect

the new one. You do need a VAG-COM to recalibrate the new one though. The procedure is in the Bentley manual.
