Default Cold startup

Hi all,

I have a slight problem with my 1.8 tt.

On start up the engine runs rough for a couple of minutes then settles down, I also experience a slight loss of power at random times.

So far both Lambda sensors have been changed, along with the maf sensor.

The following codes were listed:

Catalyst system:
Bank 1: Efficiency below threshold:
P0420

Fuel trim: Bank 1 (mult): System too rich :
P1127

Pressure drop between turbo and throttle valve (check D.V!) :
P1297

Dump valve was replaced 2yrs ago and is working fine.

The codes, when cleared do not register again for 2-3 days.

Any help or indication towards this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Hello there,

I'm no expert, but it sounds like a small boost or a bacum leak. A cool trick is to light up a cigarette and move it arround the bacum lines to see if the smoke gets taken in.
Hope you can figure it out.

Thanks for the reply, all of the hoses look o.k but perhaps a test along the lines of your suggestion will be worth a try.
