My car is feeling a little sluggish for some reason, is there anyway I could check with my vag com to confirm it is the dv? On accelerating above 2900rpms the engine is making a noise that is like a gritty turbo whine.. Is that normal (its my first turbo)?? Im calling the local dealership tomorrow and making an appointment for next week to get the shifter adjusted.. Oh, I have 880miles on the car and when I asked my friend, who drives a corrado, if he felt the notchy feeling he said yes.. Oh, and when I shift into reverse I also get the notchy feeling unless I go into reverse, then 1st then reverse again (feels like butter)..

Default same here...

...in fact, twice now i've had trouble shifting from 1st to 2nd when the car is cold. 2nd wouldn't engage at all...i had to put it back into neutral, then into 2nd to get it to work.

definitely the first item on my "complaint" list when i go in for my first service visit.

Default I get the notchy feeling all the time.. Even after a 2 hour drive..

In the morning I let the car heat up for about 5 minutes and the car stays in the garage.. This is also my first manual car so I thought I was doing something, but my friend who has been driving manual his whole life also said the same.. I have gotten smooth shifts, but its rare..

Found this post by jenner

Probably a MAF or a DV...for the tranny...switch to Redline..it cures notchiness.
