Default DV fluttering...is this an issue?

I'm running a Forge Race DV, and ever since it was installed, it flutters when releasing lower pressures, but if I push the engine, it has a nice, fluid "pssst" sound. I was never really concerned about this, but lately I've been throwing a "Secondary Air Intake, Incorrect Flow" code. I figured this was due to either my boost gauge install or a crack in a hose. I'm planning on changing most of my hoses to silicone, and I'm going to do some soap testing on my boost gauge connections, so I wasn't too concerned about this code. Then in doing some searching I read that a fluttering DV might also cause this.

So, my question is, should I change the DV? I was thinking about getting either a Hyperboost or Forge 007. Or should I just play around with the springs in the DV I have now?

Default See if you have a torn diaphram..>>

The code points to that. Several Forge valves flutter though and you can't get it out (trust me, I've tried). It's not necessarily bad, just annoying (assuming you have the proper spring in there and it's not too stiff...Green recommended). Diaphram valves should be in the "Reversed" orientation with the bottom of the valve toward the boost source (Lying on it's side compared to stock orientation)..

Default Flutters = vacuum leak in some cases you may

want to take the DV out and test it. Worse case swap for a new DV. I recommend Hyperboost Compacts...small...quick in reaction. Pistons are teflon coated making the lubricant last longer. I have used Forge 007 in the past and the lubricant doesnt last for 15k miles at all.

Default I've checked the diaphram, and it looked fine...

but I've always wondered if I had the DV in the correct orientation. As it is installed now, I the top of the DV is pointing up toward the hood. I take it this is not the way you were talking about?

Also Steve, how long of a turn around is there for a boost machine?

Default I have a forge DV-R and...

I can't keep a diaphram in there with out it splitting and causing the same code. I say switch to a piston DV. Thats what I did.

If diaphrams are tearing, try doing DV relocation (SFS or Forge). Less heat = less risk of tearing.
