engine running too cold?
Hi,
the engine temp on my 2000 tt coupe used to sit at 90 has recently dropped to show a consistent 75ish. both the gauge and the diagnostic 49C agree so I don't think the instrument is at fault.
my dealer is telling me that there is some kind of chronic problem with TT's and coolant temp that Audi hasn't been able to resolve, is this BS? has anyone else experienced this? what was the fix if any?

You'd see below that you already got the likely answer. There is no Chronic or unsolved mystery to this. Your dealer is basically full of it. The thermostat is purely mechanical and, if stuck open, your car will run cold. Simple as that.
