Engine Squeals Like a Pig
Under full throttle acceleration there is a funky (in a bad way) squeal sound coming from the engine. No, it is not the lovely song from the turbo. It is more of a high pitched whistle. The power also seems to get pretty flat after the initial turbo hit. The car has 40k miles and most likely an OEM DV. I bought the car used. I suspect it is the DV, so I just ordered a Stratmosphere. Any other ideas of what it might be?

That's what I am thinking
I drove to Colorado Springs (about 1000ft higher than Denver) last weekend and the engine performed like a dog. The car seemed to be running NA. My GTI had the 180hp 1.8T and I noticed very little change when I hit the higher altitude. I have an appointment with service on Tuesday. Maybe they can track it down.

are your going to take the car to the dealer to look at it?
I would recommend a good Audi/vw shop. there off i-70 and wadsworth. rs motor sports 303-432-8989. they are good w/ 1.8t powered cars. ask for Joel if u chose to call he is the turbo expert.
