So I was finally able to work on my car. I unplugged the Haldex control unit, drive the car and bingo: the problem stopped.
So, it is clear that it is the haldex control unit, correct? (Kuddos to the guys who nailed that even before I unplugged it.)
Now, two final questions:
1. Is HPA brand the best option on the market for a performance haldex control unit (cost/benefit)? Their price is $1,039.
2. Is it OK to drive the car with the haldex control unit unplugged until I get the replacement one?
Thank you!

I did some research and I found a cheaper option. Apparently the same haldex control unit, from North American Motorsports for $950. Here is a link to their website:

Any other suggestions are truly appreciated!

I replaced the haldex control unit by the performance (aka blue) one and the problem disappeared almost completely. The car runs fine whenever I'm making u-turns or circles. Now I noticed that the ESP light flashes when the car is stopped, I put first gear, turn the steering wheel all the way to one side and accelerate (kinda trying to reproduce a 90 degrees fast turn).
Do you guys know if I have to tune any ECU using my VAGCOM after installing the new haldex control unit? Or it will automatically configure by itself after I drive for a while?
The VAGCOM does not find any error code on that Address. Here is the result:
Address 22: AWD Labels: None
Part No: 02D 900 999 X
Component: HALDEX LSC ECC 0011
VCID: 4285BF3664FD
No fault code found.
Thank you!

Flashing ESP on acceleration ???
Do you mean it only flashes when you turn sharply and accelerate hard at fairly low speeds? If so, that is normal. The ESP is indicating the traction control is activating. You can turn this off by pressing the ESP button but the ESP light will be lit solid. Sounds to me like you are good to go!
