Not sure how common this problem is but it was a real eye sore until fixed.

Its not rust. The dealer fixed mine, no problem, no questions.

Rust warranty only covers rust-THRU unfortunately.

Not had much luck with dealer workmanship, closest one is 265 mi and I had to redo their work anyway.(LL recall on track bars)
Oh well, I like the exposed aluminium anyway.

aluminium corrosion i think - mine have been replaced twice. out of warranty now so fingers crossed
