Default Hmmm very nice

In my old Cossie I had an RS500 larger intercooler with chip+exhaust etc. Result was just about 400bhp of screaming rwd power.

Guess I'll add this to the "save" list!

Default Please explain what the 3rd inlet/outlet pipe is? and also

It look likes a great unit and no doubt it is well built. I think it is a tad overpriced though (Hey Larry, you owe me a drink at H2O ;-0 ) and I bet that will be the biggest gripe, but I also believe you will sell them

Default I would love to get this...

...but I find it a bit steep for an impulse purchase. Does anyone have a guess how much this really costs to make and how much went into development? I don't want to remove profit from the equation and I feel F/M makes great products, but $1,299?

When my warranty is gone and I have a front-end collision that toasts my OEM intercoolers, I may get this one. I'd love to improve my summer driving by lowering the ambient temperature of air going into the engine.

Maybe I can get mini-OcTTober to get it for me?

Default The core and end caps are probably around 600-800 retail

based on prior knowledge and pricing..

That leaves a whole lotta room for Samco hoses and profit built in

I would imagine that the wholesale cost on the core is probably (just speculating) around $400-600

I think the intercooler should be $999

Default Since it's from the UK are there any other "hidden" costs of bringing it in to the US

which would boost the price. No doubt this is one fine piece of engineering, but the price is a bit steep.

I'm also not convinced that there is really any benefit to using an intercooler of this size since the real limitation to creating more hp is the K04. The dual intercooler setup for the TT is sufficient for the amount of HP that the K04 can flow.

The real benefit of an intercooler like this would be for us 180hp folks who opt to go for a k04 kit or GT-25 kit. But at that price - IMO it's not really worth the $1300 for 5-10 extra hp.

Default You are buying more than just 5-10hp you are preventing heat soak in the summer and an intercooler

mod is also a protection modification. It will keep your turbo running cooler.

I too think it would be a good deal at $999, but I would like to have SOFTWARE to go with it. That's why I think I will wait and go with a PES or APR stage III+ type upgrade. You get a better value out of it.(and power!)
