Default A Frank Lloyd Wright house down my street in Highland Park (hi-res)

There have been enough requests for this picture
in better resolution that I thought I'd just post it here. Enjoy.

Funny thing about this house, a few years ago,
the owners sold the orginal windows in the
house in an auction. The money the made
actually could have paid for the whole house!
They had exact replicas made to replace them
and preserve this masterpiece.

Default Myself personally

I would have sold the windows since I would not care about having authentic FLW windows... I would much prefer no morgage :-)

Default My guess: FLW was a design freak and in most of his houses had involvement in every aspect of design

and furnishing...the windows on his houses tend to be very intricate and in this case, it probably got to be too much of a liability for the owners to keep them in the windows...they were worth over a mil. Happily, the owners did replace them with authentic reproductions to keep the design of the house pure.

Annie, how was your trip?

Default There's one in Cherry Hill that's owned by a couple who've let it fall into disrepair.

The Government should take it under Eminant Domain, throw the owners in jail and refurbish the house.

Default basically here is what happened....

as an original part of the house, they were worth more as "antiques" and historical paraphanalia than as functional windows. They were not good at keeping the elements out... so they replaced them.

Default Where in Cherry Hill, GuilTTy?

Where is that house located, as I live nearby?

BTW, I've seen your car around south jersey twice now...but I'm never in my TT to give a flash or a wave.

I had a great trip, thank you! Both to Baltimore and Orlando for my grandfather's 90th birthday. Orlando was a good midpoint for all of us to meet and where my sister lives.

I got wanded at security and frisked each time. And I don't even have a beard!
