Default Fuel Gauge Problem

Anybody experianced the rapid movement of the fuel gauge I am seeing in my 225TT? It usually happens when the car is warming up and not moving. My dealer does not know what the problem is off hand. I want to narrow it down before I take the car in to have it fixed. Thanks for the input!

http://home.sprintmail.com/~andythompson</a

Default Ask your dealer to test BOTH fuel sending units . . .

I had both of mine replaced when my gauge became erratic. It has been fine since the sending units were replaced. The A6 had a recall on these parts and the TT supposedly uses the same pieces.

Thanks for the tip. I will pass it on to the dealer.

Default Will Do!

I haven't scheduled a time to get it fixed as of yet. The nearest dealer is an hour away in Louisville. I will have to arrange for a loaner/rental car to tide me over while mine is being fixed. Anyhow, I will let you know what the problem is.

Default Yeah, it was working

supposedly ... but when the filled the tank, it went south. We all suspect a connection that came loose on reassembly...

That is even more frustrating. How many more times to fix it?

Default Re: Fuel Gauge Problem

I had BOTH sensors replaced about 8 months ago. I am seeing the problem again as of last week--stuck on full, but moves around now and then. Dealer shows the sensors backordered for 4 weeks... I will be in for my second set when they show up. Doesn't seem to be the cluster in my case.
