I (fondly) remember learning to drive stick. And I remember this one hill I'd have to hill-stop on almost every day coming home from work. It was very steep. The first time was a rainy day with a lot of traffic behind me (of course). I also remember having a chance to drive all sorts of manuals... like a Ford pickup from the 50's where you shift on the column without synchros. Of course, it didn't have brakes by the time I got to drive it, so you'd leave it parked facing downhill up against a tree. ;-)
