Default Gawk stories

Hello, new poster (and owner of a 1 month old 2003 blue roadster :-) ),

I've had the car for about 6 weeks now and in that time I have had at least 4 incidents of folks stopping at lights and waving frantically to get my attention (usually the customary thumbs-up follows, or in one case I got a very interesting offer, but I digress...).

This is all very new to me. I've never owned a "looker" before. How often is this going to happen? What's the average gawk/hour out there? I like the attention but it's taking some getting used to!

I will have pics of "my baby" soon. Just bought a digital camera (guess why!?).

It's been a few years since that's happened to me with any regularity.

Default some places, TTs are almost common, but there are still

a lot of places where they aren't. That can be both good or bad, depending on where you are, I suppose...

Default I havn't had any gawking in my 2 weeks.

Of course, I'm in Boulder, audi capitol of the world.

I had alot of gawking going on when I had my yellow S2000 though. I think you just kind of get used to it and don't notice it after awhile. Or you just don't care.

Default happens all the time, and TTs are common around where i am

i think the fact that mine is slammed to the ground, has wheels and brakes just make it "a bit different," as most people tlel me.

i think the best story i have was when i was working under the hood at my school campus and a local campus bus (the margeurite) slowed and stopped next to me, the driver pokes his head out and chats me up for a minute before driving off! passengers were inside!

funny too, cuz TTs are like corollas around here.

I live in a small city located in Kentucky. (About 60,000 folks) The big three automakers rule. Camaro, Mustang, Camaro, Mustang, everybody has NASCAR stickers, or this is built and this is American muscle, blah-blah. Know how many times I've been asked (in your best red-neck voice say the following...) "Hey, is that one of them there new Beetles?"

Too many to count.
