Default Get a new chip? Or send it in?

I've decided to go with the APR chip after emailing a few people who own it. My question is should I buy a new ECU ($1049) or send it in ($499)? My wallet is telling me to "send it in" however my question is will the dealer a.) be able to tell that I have it, b.) gripe about it when they do. I like the $499 solution, but I also like hassle-free dealer visits. (My dealer is HBL VA, ugg, I know).

I know that this question as been answered in one way or another, however using Google to search the forums found so many results, it's easier just to ask again.

Thanks!

Trevor

Default Trevor, I have the APR and HBL is my dealer.

If they have noticed it (which I doubt, since I switch the program to stock when I bring it in), they haven't griped. As a matter of fact, they've been pleasant and responsive (!) in my last couple visits.

I think you would only have a problem if you brought it in for an ECU problem or major engine repair that might be related to the chip. If you had such issues, the dealer would be within their rights to deny warantee coverage (IMO). So the question would be whether you're willing to deceive them or not.

Default trevor -- had mine done in nova by the apr folks...

i would wait and have it done at curry's. also, just set the chip back to stock mode and the dealer won't know unless they physically check the chip).
