Default GIAC FMIC TT chip update + answers to questions to Garrett

Well, sorry for the late post but its done and I can't believe the difference. The car pulls hard in every gear especially in 2nd and 3rd and this software should be out now. I will post the questions and answers since that will cover some of what Garrett has done so far with the TT such as the new X chip which is a vast improvement with our 91 octane in SoCal which was adopted for this tuning.

1. Why don't they reply to e-mails?
I am sorry but emails come in ~100/day. We have to focus on the
software. We try to utilize our dealers as for ?s for support and
development issues, many of them are very skilled testing tuning and
repair.. We currently are not set up for retail sales. We try to do our
best- Software/support/new kits/custom programs/switcher options...

2. Why are the 180TTQ's running rich with the Stage II chip?
We run them rich to keep the turbo cooler. We soon will be doing an X
chip for them and will redyno them for more optimal A/F.

3. Will they be offering 93, 94 and 100 octane programs for TT's?
93/94 octane- all of our newer chips are dual mapped for 91/93
octane. At least they will all be soon. 100 octane is for the IBE/XR chip.

4. Will they be offering the chipswitch for the TT's?
Yes our IBE-chipswitch will be for all cars.. Audi' to Porsche,
etc.. ~2 mos away.

5. What about an X or XR TT chip?
X- for 225 will come out soon. version 6a. Xr when the IBE is done.

6. Will they be tuning chips for other aftermarket bolt-ons? Such as Cats, intake, downpipe.
cats/intake/downpipe- we will program for our dealers as they request
it.. Or if you guys get enough together stating a real need.

7. What about 180 owners that install the 225 intake and exhaust, can they program that?
225 intake/exhaust w/ ICs? Should be able to, but we need a car

8. What are they offering so far as services for custom programming?
Custom- it is a time thing. We will be better suited in January, on
through next year...

9. Will they be tuning any TT's on an awd dyno? Not so much for the hp/torque numbers but for the reliable and repeatable environment.
4 WD DYNO's- YES. Curry's now has a 4 wd dyno, Matrix gets the Dynojet
4-wd dyno in ~1 week, AWE in ~2 mos, EVO in about 2 mos, and we plan on
having one early next year of our own for 24/7 use for customers use in the
LA/Irvine/SD area..

10. where's the refined K04 program for the 2001.5 (CH box) A4 1.8T install?
The tuner who installed the whole kit hasn't gotten any response from GIAC either - least not the last time I asked. He has only 1 version of the program for that ECU but a couple (few?) for different year ECU's that get the same "upgrade".
We (the tuner and I) both believe that the chip could smoother though to be honest, it's not too bad
latest K04 ch program- 018chk01a.08a
What is not smooth?

many thanks to Garrett and Andrew once again for all the hard work and a great product.

Do you happen to have the program number for the new software. When I talked to my dealer a couple of weeks ago, he said that if I could get the program identifier, he could download it and install it.

The problem I have is that I can't get ahold of anyone to get the program number.

Thanks,
Gary
