Greetings from the TTwin Cities (long)
I have been enjoying the wit and wisdom of this forum for a long time and finally decided to join the party.
Let me start off by saying, "I LOVE my TT!" I love the way it looks (inside and out), the way it handles and brakes, and the fact that it should be illegal to have this much fun on four wheels in the snow (with snow tires of course). Here's my story. I wanted a TT the first time I laid eyes on an amulet red coupe in 2000. Unfortunately, my younger brother (bastard) bought a silver quatro 180 in early 2002. Every now and then, he let me take it for a drive. Talk about feeding the flames of desire. Finally in mid-2004, I successfully pleaded my case with my wife and had the finances to get my own TT. My brother's car actually helped me, because I proved my son could ride in a car seat in the backseat and that the car handled well in the snow - Thanks bro! I did alot research over the years - many thanks to all of the members of this forum for their sage advise - and knew I wanted an ALMS - Avus coupe. It's just such a beatiful color combo. It took me 6 months to finally get one - lost 5 cars because of time constraints and distance. I finally picked it up end of December 2004. The best New Years Resolution ever. I have had no regrets since then.
Anyways, my warranty is winding down and "the sickness" is getting stronger. I'm feeling the need to improve this little teutonic wonder. First on my list is new suspension. Hopefully this will improve ride and handling and remove the "eye sore" wheel gaps. I know there are a few locals on the forum. I would love to get your input on the subject sometime (maybe while enjoying a bavarian beverage). I am curious if the lower set-up causes any problem with getting around in the snow or our God awful roads - they are like speed bumps from hell.
Oh, I only get to catch-up with the forum at night, so it is tough for me to respond. Anyways, here are some photos:

Yes, that is my brother's car. I'm trying to bring him down with me into the madness of modification. May God have mercy on our souls.

Yes, they are. :( but ...
The price was right. The previous owner already had them and included them in the deal for $800 (rims and tread). At the very least, they should make good track rims (17 x 8.5). But, it would have been nice if they were 18s.
