Having a startup problem...
I have been having a problem with cold starts when the gas tank is in the red. I have to turn it over more times to get it to catch, and sometimes it will stall the first time. The second time it is fine. I have taken it to Rector a couple of times, and the first time they said that they couldn't find anything wrong. The second time they replaced a coolant sensor, and said it should fix the problem. Any ideas about what the problem might be?
Thanks!

A far reach, but.. >>
are your fuel injectors holding adequate psi in the fuel rail?
Again....a stretch, but my Chrysler 300M had hard starting problems. When she did start there was a smell of gas. I researched in the 300M forum site (luv these sites!) to find that a leaky injector will drop fuel rail psi below required 50psi. Additionally, those drops (yes, only drops will do it!)of gas collect in the cylinder and cause an overly rich mix to burp out.
Got so bad that she was backfiring out the air intake!
Fixed with new injectors... (I did all 6, but only 2 where leaking).
So...if you can check 'em...... give it a go!

try.. >>
when you're starting the car, try keeping the key in the "ON" position for a couple of seconds before cranking. That will be enough to prime the fuel pump and should take care of it.
