Default Help! Check engine light came on tonight on drive home from dinner.

Are there any obvious things I should look at. Clearly I can't get maintenance until monday, should I drive the car tommorow? BTW the car feels and sounds normal. Thanks for any and all responses.

Default When did you last fill the car with fuel? Check the gas cap.

Take it off and put it back on making certain to hear it click a few times.

Default Will do, but I doubt this is the problem...

as I am down to a 1/4 tank of gas. The problem seems to have occured when I returned to my car after dinner and started it, then I had to turn it off to talk to someone. Five minutes later I cranked it up and then the light was there. Anyway, I will try your advice as this is the simple type solution I am looking for.

Check your DV. If it isn't maintaining its vacuum/seal, that could be a cause. I had that happen.

Yes you can drive it. There's a chance the light won't come on today when you start it.

Default I've had it happen several times & it was the gas cap also...

If the attendent doesn't make that clicking sound w/ the cap the light goes on. It may also take a few days to a week to go off. Fill it & close the cap yourself. Also I would check my oil as a precaution. You can also disconnect the battery & let the computer reset itself but with the TT there maybe other complications to doing that.
