Default oops...

the tensioner has a bolt hole where you can screw a stud in and screw a nut onto it to release the tension and slide the pin back in to hold it while you're working on it. be careful and good luck!

Default When I did mine, I honestly counted the teeth on each belt about 8 times....

I once did a timing belt on a V6 without using the cam-locking bar, and one cam ended up a tooth off. Luckily, I double-checked it before I ran the engine.

By the way, I used the M5x55 bolt, with an extra nut and washer to release the tension.... Worked quite well.

Default You're in MN too aren't you, I remeber seeing your post and thinking I really should be

watching and or helping with that since mine will be due next summer. My attention to detail can be somewhat lax at times, but I best pay attention when doing this job.

Default If you end up doing it, I'll gladly come and help... I did mine by myself, and...

it would have been nice to have another set of hands at times.

I live in Eagan, BTW.
