what are you using to raise the car and where are the stands positioned?

Default Pointers here.

If you have a star wrench (large wheel lug wrench with four different size sockets in one cross style design), put one end of the wrench under the tire and lift up with the other end in your hand. This will take all the load off your arms and the tire will raise up to the bolt pattern. You can use your legs to stabilize the tire so you can center it to the bolt. This is an old, old trick and you will see how it can make life much easier here.

Default I think his problem is the opposite - if it's a small enough difference you could jack up the

control arm a little (use a piece of wood to protect and even the pressure).

Else if you only need a little clearance, then you could let the air out of the tires...

Some people shouldn't own cars.

Default yeah i just need a better jack

cause the crappy factory one is not tall enough for me to get the wheel on... ie the rotor is one like 3 or 4 inches off the ground.. and the stands are at the rubber jack point just behind the front wheels. and since the stands are short i cant jack up one side without the other becoming unstable on the stand. so my buddy is coming over with a dolly jack, can i jack it from somewhere under the engine in the middle.

oh N9909E dont be a dick! im asking for advice, not rude comments

IM NO master of all things auto, so i ask questions to keep from damaging my beloved car. what so wrong with that... so where do you get off saying i shouldn't be able to own a car.

if the car is on stands, cant you jack up the suspension arm a little with the factory jack?
