How much do the Silicon Performance Hoses like the APR hoses actually help the TT?

silicone insulates from heat much better than rubber...
and by doing so, a turbo engine will benefit.
silicone hoses are great insulators from heat...and can withstand high temps. if you ever opened the hood after driving...it is HOT under there, so you can imagine that anything to keep heat out of the intake or IC would help.

early build cars had potential for intake hose collapsing but that has been resolved
The rest of the system is under pressure so I don't think collapse would be a problem anywhere else.

Actually that is counter to some of the needs, if you think about it. Insulating the pre-IC, post
turbo line (the passenger side IC hose) actually would result in (so small I am sure it is not quantifiable) higher temps going in to the IC, and hence the temps going to the throttle body...
I think the benefit is in smoother flow, and larger ID (Oh, and of course, the LOOK BETTER!!! ; )

Higher volumes of air...
are passed through the larger Forge/APR/Samco 60mm hoses as opposed to a stock 50mm. The intake hose was billed as replaceable due to collapse issues, as previously stated, this issue was resolved. In the case of the boost hoses, you're dealing with a pressurized environment, the air will flow in any direction which it's allowed to go. Hopefully, this means your intake and not some other leaking/cracked hose. Long story short, increasing the volume of the pressurized portion of your intake system will produce some lost of pressure (1-3 pounds in some cases).
I don't dismiss the use of silicone hoses, I even look forward to reinstalling mine on the TT. I just suggest that if you're looking for power there are other modifications which can be made prior to changing your intake hoses which will yield more noticeable results.

These figures are extreme but still impressive
Remember the Forge hose is now manufactured by silicon hoses .com , we designed and tested the hose and Samco used to make them
