Default I don't think I've seen this one described on the forum yet...

I went out to my 225TTR tonight to see if I had the light/lock problem. This is what I found out...

1. Get in car.
2. Lock doors.
3. Start car.
4. Attempt to turn on lights (they work) => I don't have lock/light problem right?
5. Attempt to unlock doors (the switch doesn't work) => I do have lock/light problem?
6. Attempt to open doors (they are locked)
7. Attempt to open doors (they are unlocked).

Okay, so what does this mean?

Bill

PS - I have not been drinking alchohol. :-) I tried it three times and had the same result.

Default That's the way they are supposed to work.

1. It always takes two pulls of the door handle to unlock the doors. (Normal behavior, first pull unlocks, second pull opens door.
2. Depending on how you locked the doors in the firstplace the switch will not unlock the doors. I believe if you used the remote you can't unlock with the switch. I don't know why they did it this way but it is "normal".<p>2001 225TTRQ Lake Silver/Ebony

Default I used the switch to lock the doors (before I started the car)...

I never did try locking the doors while in the car before tonight (seriously) so I can't speak to what normal yet.

Since the lock/unlock button in the center console didn't work to unlock the doors in this process.

Default OK, an explanation for you . . .

If the doors are locked and you pull the handle, that is the same as lifting the button on a car that HAS a button! The second pull of the handle with just open the door. Bill . . . RTFM!

Now for #1-#5.. . it DOES sound like you have the door lock problem. If you do this again, are any of the lights working? I mean can you turn on the map lights? try it again and let me know. if this is still the case, we cna get it fixed with a simple fix of a ground that is NOW supposed to be in the Audi TechLine. Ivan and I had it put across Nationwide back in April.

Default No idea, it's somewhere attached to the central locking module...

When they fixed mine, I guess they had to do some major disassembly; then again they had to anyway to install my CD changer...

Regardless, it is on the Audi Tech Line now, so your dealer should be able to get complete details of the fix with one phone call...
