Default I'm back from Maine...what a great trip!!

Okay, so Jodi and I set out for Maine early Saturday morning. For all of you who don't live in the northeast, the forecast for the day on Weather.com read "Cloudy with drenching rain." That's an understatement. It poured like crazy all morning, and my instrument cluster was in heaven from Stamford until Fairfield. Beep Beep, Flash, Flash, BEEP, BEEP, Flash, Flash...you get the point, right?

We met up with some friends just south of Hartford, so we had company for our little sojourn into the mountains. Once we hit the VT border, the rain started to clear....only to be replaced quickly with SNOW. So much for putting the top down. Between Hartford and Brattleboro, VT the temperature dropped about 15 degrees. The snow actually let up after lunch, so our drive along Rt 2 through NH and into ME was much less eventful. The drive, however, was beautiful.

On Sunday, Maine treated us to wind, sun and 48 degrees. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking. Covered in snow, Mt. Washington looked majestic as we drove by it. Unfortunately, we didn't have time for a trip to the top this time. (Anyone in for a run later this summer?). We met some friends up at the Sunday River Brewery for lunch, did a lot of driving and slowly meandered our way back to CT.

Despite the weather on Saturday, the weekend turned out great. With the heat blowing and our seats burning, we actually had the top down for a while!! After last week, the trip was just what the doctor ordered. On top of the trio of events that plagued my TT, the TT curse took its toll on Jodi when she dropped me off at Audi. As we pulled out of the parking lot together, she heard a tapping from one of the wheels on her car. Any guess? She drove over a nail. Thankfully, there was a Town Fair Tire around the corner (on our way to which I ran into Jaime...sorry we had to speed off like that!), so everything was taken care of immediately (and free of charge I might add).

Oh to be in Maine (again). ;-)
