Jack points in TT
How many jack points are there in the TT. I am trying to use jack-stands to compeletly lift the car. I only have the jack that comes with the car. (I already managed to bend the lip that is just underneath the car). HELP ME (and no sarcasim please)

"Step away from the car, sir!" Seriously, stop a moment...
Go to your nearest auto parts store, even Target, and buy a floor jack.
Even the $20 ones are better than what you are doing with the car-jack.
Better yet, buy two of 'em.

You have already caused a problem.
Do not continue with what you are doing, I emplore you.
Then you can safely jack up the car at the jack points, and put the stands under the car at the control arms or other safe places.

A note about floor jacks
I purchased a floor jack with wheel chocks and jack stands at Walmart for $29.95. You will notice that when you use the Owner's Manual dicated spots (behind the notches in the lower side valance) the floor jack will crush or distort the lip on the sheetmetal while lifting the car. This is not structural but is another reminder to me how precarious the jack that comes with the car can be. Be very careful when using the standard jack.

Re: Jack points in TT
I've used this technique on my '72 MGB: Drive the front wheels up onto a set of ramps and then, using a floor jack, jack up the back end and use the jack stands there. The ramps create a fairly stable base and the jackstands are then augmented with additional supports as necessary (blocks, bricks, etc.) Never get under a car that is not adequately blocked up.
