I saw one of these in maroon about 2 months after you got yours.
I was cruising down the freeway and it pulled up on me slowly. I saw that it has a weird hood, then I saw the ZR1 logo on the side. I meant to ask you what it was way back then but I forgot. Since that vid was for the 2009 does that mean I saw a prototype or have they already made these before and this one is just beefier? Very nice looking for an American made car though... :-P

The sticker price will probably hurt it the most....
$103K will put it out of reach for most corvette lovers, and the ones that can afford it may not want to spend that much for a GM product. I am sure it is an amazing car and it will be interesting to see how it does in the market place.

and for that you can get a brand new 911 Twin Turbo convertible loaded up....
Sure the vette may be faster, but I would rather have a new Porsche for that price. Resale value will hold better on the Porsche than the GM. It will be interesting to see how it plays out for them. Even with the sticker gouge by the dealer on the early cars there will be people lined up to get one, however give it 6 months and they will probably drop the MSRP 10 - 15K just to move them off the lot.

The early Vette Faithful will pay the price...>
There's a lot of big money folks in that camp and they don't cross-shop Porsche's. Same thing happened with the C6 Z06...Not quite as hard a gouge, but a gouge nonetheless. it actually took 2 years before there were any appreciable discounts on that car and that was with a 7-8,000 production run/yr. At only 2000 ZR1's the money will stay high for awhile.
With the position GM is in, this may be the last performance blast ever...

Porsche resale is TERRIBLE>>>
check out where the 2000 996 is right now...can be had for 30k or less....considering they were a little over 70k......ugh...corresponds nicely to the TT resale value, just different price points...
and lets not even discuss the boxster crowd...they are really hurting...
One thing GM has over Porsche...costs to repair..
