Default Killed my wheel - 5 spoke

Hey everyone.

Just slammed my passenger's side front tire into a curb (don't ask how..)

While it's just scuffed up around the entire edge, and a couple gouges here and there, I'm thinking of replacing it.

Anyone have 1 5-spoke oem wheel to sell? I'm willing to buy one that's used and slightly scuffed.

Email me at davidmichaelrobert@yahoo.com

Thanks

Default I had mine fixed thru a local body shop and it looked brand new...

replacement cost was about $900....to have it fixed was $130/each. I really didn;t think they could fix it...but they did and as i said...looks brand new!

Default Go to this website http://www.wak-tt.com/mods/wickedwheels/wickedwheels.htm. They show you step by

step how to fix them. Me being a poor boy, I am currently doing it myself. Looks good so far. Suggest you use Wurth Porsche paint since that is the color used on TT OEM wheels. Here is a site to get the Porsche paint.
http://www.performanceproducts.com/ProductPage.aspx?productname=Wurth+Wheel+Paint+Lac quer&productid=106920&productType=10&p artnumber=

There is a bunch of mods on the wak-tt site also.

Default The site is pretty self explanatory. Mine are very minor gouges. I used a handheld sander on each

location. Then I used we/dry 400 grit. Filled in any remaining gouge with filler. Sanded that down w/ 400 grit wet/dry. Waiting for my Wurth paint. The website shows an interesting way to protect the tire. Deflate the tire and break the bead. Put it in a plastic bag. Cut the plastic 1" smaller than the rim and mask it to the rum. DO NOT GET PAINT ON THE BEAD OR INSIDE THE BEAD.

Default I used Wheels America in Houston. Total FUBAR.

They not only couldn't match the Audi paint/clear coat on the wheel, but when I sent in a second wheel as a reference, they polished it to remove what they insisted was oxidation.

Morons.

If it's minor and you can do it yourself, great. Otherwise go with eBay. I've seen them for under $300. Actually, I've seen them for $500 a set.
