Now that I'm back from Portland, thought I'd update everyone on my TTR's mishap with the rock. For those new to the saga, I had to swallow a rather good-sized rock that was a part of a rockslide that I was the first to discover.
Initial inspection from Mike at Sunset Imports is summarized as follows:
1 - floorboards need replacing - two softball-sized lumps found
2 - transmission casing split apart
3 - mounts blown
4 - front and rear sub-frames destroyed
5 - power-steering fluid lines sliced
6 - muffler mashed
The good news is that all the parts are in stock in California, so if the Audigods are still with me, the best scenario is that I might be out for only 6 weeks or so. Don't worry, I'm not getting my hopes up, based on the experience of many of you out there, but at least the body is unharmed, save for the floorboards. The next real critical point is after the above work is done to see if there is any engine damage. There is an unhappy clicking sound that may or may not be the transmission. But hey, when I put the ignition key in, the diagnostic computer says <<OK>> , so it must be okay, right? (just kidding).
The folks at Sunset have been great, so that's a good sign, and Allstate is doing their job excellently as usual.
BTW, for you new Audi owners out there, Audi Roadside Service will provide some reimbursement for disablement if you are more than 100 miles from home. I didn't know this as I hadn't received the info packet in the mail, and the people at Roadside Service who I called failed to mention this to me (I am able to send in some receipts for partial reimbursement).<p>Craig Syverson

We'll all hope for the best, so keep us posted! Keep your spirits up, Craig...(more)
...it's encouraging at least that the parts are already in the US.
I feel for you...we ALL do! VERY best of luck as they begin the repairs!

Boy, sounds like more damage than my anvil incident, though.....
that trashed the engine of course.
Mine should be back next week....86 days and counting.<p><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/AudiWorldPics/2000/keyfob.jpg">
