Lapping the field at BeaveRun (video)

1.8T engine holds its own on the track, TT is stock with exception of ABT chip. Changed the sparkplugs before going because engine was breaking up at high-speed/high load. Turns out problem was really leaking turbo outlet hose, didn't find out until it finally blew off at Watkins Glen. TT doesn't have to make excuses, able to pass Porsches, vettes, BMWs, Mustangs, Camaros, etc. Red flag was thrown during run. 240Z doesn't want me to pass and smokes tires a couple of times under late braking. Video requires 220 kbps bandwidth, file is 38 MB. Might play best if downloaded using "save target as" and played back in Windows Media Player at double speed to lessen boredom. Because video lacks peripheral vision and no G forces, video looks slower than actual. Playback speed of 1.2 to 1.3 is more like actual experience.

video

Props to you and the TT, John ...
TT certainly looked capable while you looked pretty darn smooth and controlled. Nice job!
I was most impressed how you seemed to be able/willing to go much faster into the turns/later braking than most. Stock brakes?! No fade? You must've been able to stay off them and save em so you had to have been controlled. Excellent.
Super job on that yellow 911, right on him in the curves though he broke away from you once the track cleared up. The black vette, had a handful with you behind him, and apparently he had enough (he was problably pressing more than he felt comfortable with)as he flagged you over.
The white Z, have to admit he held his own, but geez, I was waiting for him to lock those brakes up for good, and go straight off the track.
Looks like you handled everyone else!
Good stuff! Impressed all to hell.
Score one for the TT! (and you of course!)

You make that look so easy. ;^)
I'm not sure I'd trust my attentiveness to a track with that many other cars on it. :^)
It looks like there was a huge variety of cars out there.
