I am almost up to my first oil change and I read a lot about forum members using Mobil 1 instead of what the dealer will supply you with.

Bottom line: will Mobil 1 synthetic give you actual improved engine performance or it is just better for the engine in the long run so it will last longer with fewer problems?

workings of engine. Wear & tear...having the lighter weight trisynthetic means when engine has been sitting and you do cold start the lighter lub makes it to the engine friction points faster than the more traditional heavy weight dino juice...Mobil 1 (or other good synthetics) is just a better way to go than standard oil.
