Since I replaced some hoses and tightened everything up last week I now no longer have any faults onthe readiness test. After replacing spark plugs last night I noticed after starting car up, that soon after start up the revs rise to 1200 and there is a whining/sucking sound like a small vacuum cleaner. It seemed loudest at the MAF. the LH cooling fan also ran. After a few minutes the revs return to 700 and the noise disappears, the cooling fan switches off. Same thing happened this morning. This the secondary air pump? Is it normally so noisy?

That sounds normal to me.....that is the pump...mine does the same.

Unless its a really loud screeching, in which case the air pump is dying....

Aircon was on when I started yes, switching it off made no diff.
