just came from the hearing - after my last (8th) speeding ticket, I've managed to graduate to a new class in "Defensive Driving School", for "Aggressive” drivers....
Have to take this one in person, and 12 hours long. Ugh.

I live in the state capital of one of the most notorious states for police action. When I think of all the times I've really been unabashedly SPEEDING, I can't really feel too bad about the fact that some guy with a radar gun's got me hitting 60 between some redlights (although, yes, doing it IS stupid, and it does **** me off at the time, but you know as well as I do that 1., it's mighty easy to get there mighty fast, and 2., 60 (say) in our cars is not the same as 60 in an suv or a tarus. So, that's the breaks of the game, and in spite that I do exceed the speed limits, I'm a cautious soul.
